Steven Mac Adam Motorcycle Journey
Oh boy, here we go again, another day, another dollar.
Hi, my name is Steven. I’m writing this blog for a class assignment, and my teacher told me to make it enjoyable. Well, if I’m going to write about something, I might as well make it a topic I genuinely enjoy. If you know me, you already know I’m passionate about a few things—but one of the biggest is motorcycles.
I absolutely love riding. If you’ve spent any time around me, you know I’m always encouraging others to try it out. And when someone tells me, “I’d love to, but I don’t know where to start,” I already have a whole script in my head to guide them on their journey into the world of motorcycles. So for my first blog post—and my class assignment—I want to answer this question: Where do I start on my motorcycle journey?
First things first: a motorcycle might be one of the greatest inventions ever, but at the end of the day, it’s still a tool. Every tool has a purpose. So, ask yourself: Why do I want to get into motorcycles?
-
Do you want a cheaper way to get around?
-
Do you hate traffic and dream of slipping past it?
-
Do you love off-roading and exploring trails that cars can’t reach?
-
Or do you crave speed and want to push your limits?
Maybe you don’t know yet—and that’s perfectly fine. If that’s the case, I recommend starting with a beginner course called the California Motorcycle Safety Program (CMSP). This program doesn’t just teach you how to ride; it also covers the laws you’ll need to know as a California motorcyclist. The best part? They provide different types of motorcycles for you to try, and since they know you’re a beginner, it’s okay if you drop the bike—it’s all part of learning.
Yes, it’s a little pricey, but in my opinion, it’s the best first step. It opens the door to what could become a lifetime of freedom, excitement, and unforgettable experiences.
So if you’ve ever wondered where to begin, that’s my advice: start with the CMSP. It might just change your life the way it changed mine.
